To be enrolled in a doctoral programme, candidates must hold a national master’s degree or another degree conferring the rank of master’s, following a course of study demonstrating their aptitude for research.

If this degree requirement is not met, the head of the institution may, by way of exception and on the recommendation of the doctoral school council, enrol students who have completed equivalent studies abroad or who have had their prior learning validated in accordance with the Education Code.

Enrolment in the doctoral programme is decided by the head of the institution on the recommendation of the director of the doctoral school, after consultation with the thesis supervisor and the director of the research unit.

It constitutes admission to the courses offered by the doctoral school.

Initial enrolment is an essential step that deserves your full attention in order to avoid misunderstandings that can sometimes have damaging consequences (for example, carefully indicate the intended doctoral discipline and the exact nature of the funding).

Initial enrolment takes place once you have been selected to work on a given subject with a thesis supervisor and have obtained funding for three years.

At this stage, you must:

finalise your employment contract with your employer (which may be your doctoral enrolment institution)
pay the enrolment fees to your enrolment institution (as well as the CVEC)
